Every mark, layout, and visual decision that makes Studio Bananas Group feel like SBG traces back to one person. Melissa co-founded the studio, named its spirit, and has been its source of inspiration since day one.
Melissa earned her graphic design degree at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala — one of the oldest universities in the Americas — and put it to work in public service as a graphic designer for the City of Guatemala, where design has to communicate clearly to everyone, not just to other designers.
That discipline became the foundation for a career spanning Guatemala, the United States, and Europe: countless logos, brand identities, and graphic systems for businesses that needed to look like what they truly are. Fluent in English and Spanish, she works comfortably on both sides of the Atlantic — the same transatlantic reach that defines the studio itself.
As co-founder of SBG, her sharp eye and dedication have shaped everything the studio looks like today — from client identities to the SB mark that dissolves into particles when this site loads.
